Alba Johnson is a personal chef, cooking instructor, and a cookbook author in the Washington metropolitan area. She was born in Naples, Italy and raised in Tunis, Tunisia, one of the countries of Maghreb. Her love for cooking and a desire to share her culture have been two of her lifelong passions which she enthusiastically shares with her students and clients. Alba specializes in Maghrebine cuisine which is a fusion of Southern Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Berber foods. The food of Maghreb is known for its vibrant, colorful and flavorful cuisine. It is also known for its extensive use of spices such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and cinnamon. All dishes are prepared with fresh, local and seasonal vegetables, fruits, meats and seafood native to the coastline region.
