One Hellishly Good Bloody Mary

1 1/2 ounces vodka
1 teaspoon hot pepper jelly, warm 15-20 seconds in microwave
3 ounces tomato juice
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
A few drops Worcestershire sauce to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 pinches celery salt
Tabasco or Harissa to taste

Directions:
Warm the pepper jelly and combine with the vodka. Next, combine all the remaining ingredients in a mixing glass and shake the mixture well. Pour into a pint or highball glass three-quarters filled with ice. Garnish with a selection of healthy and eatable vegetables.
Optional Eatable Garnishes: English cucumber (cut lengthwise), yellow or orange bell pepper (cut in thin spears), spring onion, carrot (cut lengthwise into sticks), black olives on skewer, Stuffed feta or blue cheese green olives on skewer, Blanched green beans or asparagus, Cherry tomatoes on skewer, Stalks of herbs; basil, cilantro, Italian parsley, fennel (cut lengthwise)
This drink doesn't really fit in with my Maghreb cuisine, however a friend asked me to create a recipe for a cocktail that would work well with her great product pepperjellyheaven.com.

  1. The Bloody Mary offers so much space for improvisation, so many empty niches, waiting to be filled with different after-taste. I loved your version! Very nicely thought out and you are showing some of the possible additional ingredients! Thank you very much.
